The Muse: Teen Club

The Muse: Teen Art Club

The Muse is AMoA club for teens and young adults ages 13 - 21. They are a group of highly-motivated youths who are passionate about visual and performing arts.

By becoming part of The Muse, you can:

  • Gain volunteer hours for school.
  • Help other teens create cool Muse events!
  • Create cool stuff.
  • Exhibit your art at AMoA.
  • Participate in community activities like Holi Fest and Art Walk.
  • Perform at open-mic events.
  • Hang out with other teens.

Muse Summer Events

The Muse Spoken Word Workshop
Saturday, June 15

 National poetry slam champion and host of AMoA's highly popular 'Rhythm & Rhymes Spoken Word Performing Arts Series', Sha'Condria "iCon" Sibley, will lead a high-energy creative writing and performing workshop for youth ages 13-21. This workshop will introduce the art of spoken word poetry, focusing on foundational knowledge, innovative uses of language for the purposes of self-expression, and effective conveyance of one's poetry for connection and entertainment.

This event is FREE to participants between the ages of 13 and 21.

Registration for this event closes on June 12 at 4 pm.

 

The Muse Teen Woodworking Workshop
at The Hurst Loft
Wednesday, June 19 and Friday, June 21 from 1pm-4pm

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maker, Jim Hurst has offered to share his skills with The Muse as well as his workshop! For this two day workshop we will be working at The Hurst Loft and creating bird houses! Once complete we will put our own spin on our creations by adding design elements and painting!

This event is FREE to participants between the ages of 13 and 21.

The Muse Improv Camp

Monday, July 8- Friday, July 12
1pm-4pm each day

If you are between the ages of 13 and 21 and have always wanted to learn how to do improv comedy, join Muse Teens for our Muse Teens Improv Summer Camp. Ty Cedars will be guiding teens through a week of improv exercises and games that will help teens learn the art of improvisation.

Ty Cedars is an actor and improv performer with City Park Players and Oh Yeah Improv. He also teaches theater, debate and speech at Bolton High School.

This is a FREE week long workshop! But you must register to participate. Space is limited!

Registration for this event closes on July 5 at 4 pm.

 

The Muse Brainstorming Session
Saturday, August 17
3pm-5 pm

The Muse is an arts club for teens that is created by teens. Each August Muse participants gather to share ideas and brainstorm to create Muse events and workshops for the coming year. Together we bring as many of those amazing ideas to life as humanly possible! Join us and make the Muse yours this year!

This event is FREE to participants between the ages of 13 and 21.
